Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 operating system also includes the classic control panel. However, as is the case with recent versions of Windows 10, you may not need to open the Control Panel in Windows 11 very often, as most settings can now be accessed through the Settings app.
In Windows 11, some settings only appear in the Control Panel, some settings appear only in the Settings application, and most settings appear in both the Control Panel and Settings.
If a setting that you often need to change only appears in Control Panel, you can pin Control Panel to the Start menu and taskbar for easy access.
Note that, as always, you can use the search function in the Start menu to open the Control Panel.
Pin Control Panel to Start menu in Windows 11
Step 1: Locate the Control Panel. When you see the Control Panel entry in the search results, right-click it and then click the Pin to Startup option.
The above action will add Control Panel to the Pinned Applications section of the Start menu, but Control Panel may not yet appear at the top of the pinned applications list (newly added items appear at the bottom of the list by default).
Step 2: To move the Control Panel to the top of the list, scroll through the list of pinned apps in the Start menu (move your mouse over the Pinned Apps section, then browse) to see the Control Panel entry, do a right click on it and then click on the option Move to top. When you do this, the Control Panel will be the first item in the list of pinned apps.
You can also drag and drop it where you want to see it in the list of pinned apps.
Pin Control Panel to the taskbar in Windows 11
If you don’t want to open the Start menu to launch the Control Panel, you can pin it to the taskbar. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open the Start menu search, locate the Control Panel, right click on the Control Panel item and then click on the Pin to taskbar option. The Control Panel icon immediately appears on the taskbar.
Another way to pin Control Panel to Windows 11 taskbar

To remove the Control Panel icon from the taskbar, right-click it and then click Unpin from Taskbar.
